My name is Emanuela. My most wonderful years in my life were those spent as tour guide around the world. Today I'm travelling only during my four-week-holiday, which is all my job, allows me. Throughout all my travels I've always observed with immense curiosity handicrafts of different ethnic groups that I have encountered, especially ethnical jewellery.

The idea of necklaces, above all that of sewing "small pieces of life" on remnant of cloth, came to my mind during a trekking in Ladakh, Northern India.

In this gorgeous region, during religious festivals, the women of Ladakh show off their beautiful headpieces, adorned with turquoise or sometimes with corals, which have been handed down from mother to daughter, known as the "perak". This tradition truly fascinated me. How many stories of lives could be told by those headpieces, which were handcrafted with such dedication and love!

So the idea to create necklaces was born from small pieces of material and various objects, which are to be worn near the heart and, maybe in the future, handed down to a loved one.
